5 miles south of Langlade on Hwy 55 to Gardner Dam Road.
Kick off your Wolfman weekend by picking up your race packet, starting with boat inspection in the parking lot. Once your boat clears inspection, you’ll get your boat number—you’ll need it to check in inside the Dining Hall.
🍺 Beer will again be available for purchase from 4:00–8:00 PM! Grab a cold one, catch up with fellow racers, and settle into the Wolfman weekend atmosphere before race day.
🍽️ Trout Unlimited Fundraiser Meal
Trout Unlimited will once again be offering a fundraising meal for purchase on Friday night. This year, they’ll be serving from inside the Dining Hall, making it easy to grab some food while you’re checking in and enjoying the evening. Menu details and pricing will be announced as they become available.
This year, we’re keeping more of the Wolfman action together! Friday night check-in and activities, the finish line, and after-party will all be centered in the upper area of the Gardner Dam Adventure Base. This year, you’ll be able to stay closer to the heart of the action throughout the weekend.
Come early, get checked in, enjoy a beer, connect with fellow racers, and get ready for race day. The Wolfman weekend starts here!
Race Packet Pickup
New this year: Renting from River Forest Campground or Rick Klade? You can skip inspection—just find your boat number at the large start-time display by the boat inspection area.

No late pickups—make sure you grab your packet on time.

Only racers can pick up their own packets.

Boat Inspection
✅ Allowed Boats:

Whitewater kayaks, canoes, inflatables (rafts or kayaks), sit-on-tops
⚠️ Caution:

Touring/sea kayaks allowed; river may be rocky/shallow

Tandem kayaks must have two separate cockpits
❌ Not Allowed: Aluminum canoes, some inexpensive recreational kayaks
🛶Open Cockpit Kayaks:

Spray skirt is required for all open cockpit kayaks

Must be neoprene whitewater design, not nylon or flat-water style

Cockpit maximum dimensions: 38" long × 22" wide (otherwise no neoprene skirt will fit)
💧 Floatation:

Proper float bags required (≥30% boat volume, securely lashed)

❌ Not acceptable: Pool noodles, inner tubes, bubble wrap
🪖 Life Jackets & Helmets:

Type III PFD required, properly fitted

Helmets required for river and bike portions (no exceptions)
